After a full ensemble introduction in 3/4 time, the "Greensleeves" melody is first played by the woodwinds followed by the brass. Following a percussion soli in 4/4 time, the upper woodwinds are featured with the melody in a light staccato style with tambourine accompaniment. The low voices have the melody next with the upper woodwinds and trumpets playing a counter melody. The piece transitions into a 3/4 meter section featuring contrapuntal lines within the woodwinds. The last moderato section builds to a nice ending using a D major chord.
